Nicknamed "The Mozart of Catamarca", Agustín Tapia is not only a talent, but also a padel icon, for his technique and style on the court. His journey began at a very young age, laying the foundations for a career that would lead him to become a champion destined to leave an indelible mark on the history of padel.

The beginnings: a young prodigy

Agustín Tapia was born in San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, Argentina. From an early age, padel became his main passion, inspired by the great names in the sport, in particular the legendary Fernando Belasteguín. At just 15 years old, he made a decision that would change the course of his life: he left his hometown to move to Rosario and train with the best.

From his debut to the international scene

Commitment and sacrifice soon paid off. After climbing the Argentine national ranking, Tapia moved to Spain to compete with the world elite of padel. In 2020, his dream became reality when, playing alongside his idol Belasteguín, he won the Master Final of the World Padel Tour, becoming the youngest winner in the history of this prestigious tournament.

The rise and climb up the world rankings

Tapia’s talent fully emerged when in 2023 he formed a winning partnership with the Spaniard Arturo Coello. The two dominated the season with an impressive series of 45 consecutive victories and as many as 14 titles in Premier Padel tournaments. Their chemistry on the court quickly took them to the top of the international rankings, closing the year with an almost unbeatable record: 93 wins and only 6 losses.
